Nate’s proof he made it to the Towers… 😉
Finally a beautiful day without major rain (for most) or heat this year!!! Another brutal Santa FE BFL in the books!
We had 28 people sign-up and 23 show up!
- 10 started the “A” course (65 miles, 12k) and only 7 finished.
- 5 started the “B” course (55 miles / 9K) and 4 finished
- 9 started the “C” course (47 miles/ 7.5K) and 6 + 1 C+ finished.
Congrats to Aaron Gulley for top bragging rights and course record for the new course!!

That was THE finest long (REALLY long) trail ride I’ve ever ridden. Dale Ball was cool, Chamisa and Windsor were beautiful, and REM was amazing. Jawbone was downright gruesome on tired legs, but nothing a 2nd St Stout couldn’t remedy at the end! Thanks, Scott!
Thanks to all for orchestrating these events. It’s sometimes hard to motivate for local events that cover trails you ride all the time, but every time I do the SFBFL, I’m reminded just how lucky we are to live here. Kudos to those with the vision for the new stuff (Jawbone, Mineral)—both amazing additions. The only thing that would make this course better is the singletrack connector to Discounts. But even as it is, mile for mile this is one of the finest endurance courses anywhere. And finally, shout-out to Michael Palmer, who was pedaling great but had some navigation trouble.
